Count Down To ::Seedy Saturday:: Toronto ~ 15 Days!!

These organizations, (above), for the most part, are responsible for making Seedy Saturday a reality. Their huge efforts, mostly volunteer driven, organize a day devoted to the selling and sharing of seeds, + a whole lot more..
You'll find organic and heirloom veggies & flower seeds, as well as amazing demo's and talks about gardening and growing food, which helps educate people about the need to save our own seeds. Our planet has to have diversity with regards to all kinds of life, and we need to promote ways that will be sustainable for years to come.
Kudo's to all the people involved! Please visit each one and learn how they are making a difference, and how you can too!
As an ecologically thinking person, I'm really looking forward to being a part of Seedy Saturday.
Hope to see you there!

Lisa, thanks! Shall let you know how it goes. But, if you're keen to the idea, why not start one in your area? Even just a small one with friends and family. It would be sure to grow, (pardon the pun)!
I have tons of links and info I can share if you're interested! Would be very happy to pass it on. In fact, now that I think of it, thanks to you, I have an idea for a new post! Will follow up! : )

yes it was a great event and a great turnout. From 3 to 4Pm we had 450 people come through in just one hour. That means we had between 1,500 and 1800 people come through. Amazing. The potato talk went well too. Ken McMullen, Garrett Pittenger and Alex Caronhad fascinating information about the creation of seedy saturday and about potatoes. (and 60 people attended the lecture.) The three gentlemen brought potatoes and then put them out in the world to the people and to the Stop Community Greenhouse.
